Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps on iOS in Europe Q3 2022

During the third quarter of 2022, the top navigation and maps apps on iOS in Europe demonstrated varied performance trends in downloads and active users, as recorded by Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads peaking at 947K in mid-July before gradually decreasing to around 561K by the end of September. Despite the decline, active users remained robust, peaking at approximately 77M in early August and settling at around 72M by the end of the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw an initial rise in downloads, reaching a high of approximately 264K in early August. However, downloads dipped to around 145K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar pattern, peaking at around 13.8M in early August and then declining to approximately 12.3M by the end of the quarter.

Google Earth experienced relatively stable download numbers, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 73K and 103K. Active users showed a slight decline, starting at around 697K at the beginning of the quarter and ending at approximately 635K.

Yandex Maps & Navigator demonstrated consistent performance with downloads ranging from 68K to 87K. Active users increased gradually, peaking at approximately 2.5M in late August and ending the quarter with around 2.4M. Weekly revenue showed modest fluctuations, peaking at around $7.9K in early July and declining to approximately $4.4K by the end of September.

2GIS: Offline Map & Navigation saw a steady increase in downloads, peaking at approximately 64K in late August before dropping to around 29K by mid-September. Active users showed a slight increase, reaching around 1.75M in late August before declining to approximately 1.6M by the end of the quarter.
